Traffic signal (Royal Ave. and Thomas St.) being evaluated for removal

The traffic signal at the intersection of Royal Ave. and Thomas St. is being evaluated for removal. It is recommended that traffic signal removal be considered for any signalized intersection not meeting 50% of the requisite Traffic Signal Warrants documented in the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). The City of Memphis Engineering Department will be evaluating this intersection over the next 90 days. During this time, the traffic signal may be operating in flashing mode.
